Victoria Day Weekend

I hope everyone in the family had a good weekend. Marvelle & Clifford moved into their new house to make it their home. I hope you got moved in and settled.

Colleen and all the girls went to L.A. shopping. How was that girls???

Paula and I went shopping in Kalispell. It was nice to get away and we shopped till we dropped, no we still had some energy left to drive home safely. We had a good trip. We went down on Saturday morning, hit Target, K-Mart and Shopko on Saturday. Then Sunday we hit Target, Shopko, Walmart and Jo-Anne's Fabric. I bought broadcloth for $1.49 per yard, so I bought 9 yards to finish my quilt for Brian and Annette, to take with us to Australia. Paula and I found some good bargains, but were told this next weekend there will be better sales, as it is their American Memorial Holiday this weekend. Paula enjoyed being away without hubby and the kids. She found it too quiet in the room and she slept well -- too well -- don't let her tell you she doesn't snore, cause she does. The walls were rocking. We stayed at the Red Lion right next to the Pennies mall. The have renovated the whole hotel and made a courtyard in the middle that is outside and in the centre they have a pond with some fish in it with a walking bridge across it and a gas fire pit that people can go out and sit at night around the fire. Then in the corner of the courtyard was the hot tub with doors going into the indoor pool We went for a swim and it was a nice pool. Sunday night we sat out at the fire till 11 pm. We met some people from Lethbridge and Coaldale.

The have a new IHOP in Kallispell so we ate there most of the time. It is really good. For those of you who have not been there it is International House of Pancakes and they have really good food. I also heard they have a new steak house called Dave's Barbeque and you have to be really hungry to eat there, the dishes are so big. We also had supper on Sunday night at Sizzlers. It hasn't changed at all, same old, same old. It was good food and reasonable too.

Kalispell has really grown. The new Target, Home Depot, Ross Dress for Less, Bath & Borders, T J Max, the Dollar Tree was a real good shop to shop at. Kallispell is just about out to Whitefish, it has really grown. There is a new quilt shop called Glacier Quilts, but it was closed on Sunday when we found it, and we left on Monday morning before it opened, so I didn't get into there. Just as well, I spent well over my limit anyway.

Coming home yesterday, we stopped at Lil's Casino at Euricka cause Paula spotted Jeannie & Gerd's car there. They go down from Cranbrook about 3 times a month and gamble. That wouldn't be my favorite past time, but they enjoy it. So we visited for a while before we hit the border. When we got to Roosville there were 35 cars ahead of us, but the line up went fast. They asked us a few questions and said have a nice day. Then we stopped in Fernie for lunch and then stopped at Garry's Aunt Gail's house for a few minutes. They are renovating their house, so Paula went in to see their new house. Then back on the road again to come home. We made it home by 4:45 pm. The roads were good but the traffic was constant all the way home.

All in all we enjoyed ourselves. Our family all missed us dearly, but it was a nice retreat for us.
We shall have to do it again soon.

Let's hear what you all did for the weekend -----------------????
