THE WEDDING

IT WAS HER DAY

The wedding was really nice. Everyone had a great time and Shirley was beside herself, she was so happy. It was really nice to meet Ardell's kids and learn about them. He has Jules and Melanie. They are both really nice kids. There is also a third, Jules' girlfriend, Kathy. Jules is a big tall, very well built, handsome man. He was Mr Black BC a year or so ago and when you meet him, you understand why. He is about 6'5" or 6" and looks like a football fullback. He gave the tribute to the groom at the wedding and he is very articulate and well spoken. Melanie is a happy go lucky sort of gal, very good natured, easy to talk to, and when she is in the room everyone knows it. They all live on the coast. Melanie is in Victoria and Jules and Kathy are both in Vancouver.

They got married at the house. Their best man and Maid of Honor participated via telephone from Australia. Shirley called them and got them established on line just before the ceremony started and they listened to the whole thing. It was a very unique touch and Shirley and Ardell were thrilled to have them included. Shirley called last night to tell me that they received their wedding present from them yesterday. It is a lap top computer. WOW!

After the wedding we all went to the Coast hotel in Marlborough for the reception. It was a small (17) intimate group and we just had a very good time along with delicious food.

Connie and I were there to help her but she didn't require much help. She was so excited about this all that she was READY!!
